Feedback Culture 🚀
"Feedback is the fuel of personal growth and effective communication" 🌱. And that's just the beginning.
When we openly share and receive constructive feedback, it's like adding rocket fuel 🚀 to our journey of improvement. It propels us forward, helping us to refine our message and delivery, ensuring that we not only speak but are truly heard 🗣️💬.
Sometimes, we might think everything is soaring, that we are doing our best, and that our team is happy with our decisions. But feedback is the ultimate truth 🎯. When we inquire each member of our team about their feelings and perceptions, without a feedback culture, I assure you, the surprises will come - often not the pleasant kind 😲.
Ignoring feedback is like sweeping dust under the carpet - a missed opportunity for growth.
Creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing their feelings, ideas, and thoughts is crucial 🌟. It's not easy to foster this culture, but you'll be amazed to see how much happier and engaged people are when they can actively contribute to decisions, projects, and process improvements. Don't just let them speak... Let them be heard 👂.
A lack of feedback culture, with infrequent one-on-ones, team meetings, and pulse surveys, allows frustrations to build and problems to remain unresolved. This can lead to decreased performance and negatively impact results 📉. As managers, we must stay informed and proactive.
I always say, "If any of you think I'm making a mistake, you really need to come and tell me. Otherwise, we will fail as a team and as a company" 🤝.
Remember, feedback is about honesty in expressing thoughts and feelings, but it's also about how it's delivered and received. This responsibility falls on managers as well 🛠️.
As I've learned: feedback is a gift 🎁. I'm grateful for having managers who effectively implemented this tool, helping me grow faster and improve my weaknesses.
I encourage everyone to embrace and champion a feedback culture in your company. The term "culture" implies it's something that needs consistent effort and should be practiced across all levels of the organization 🔄.
By the way, do you know the 4 steps for a solid #feedbackstructure?
